We Are Fighting Back - Day 51
Happy New Year
Wednesday, January 1, 2020
Today is Day 51. As you begin the new year, what are you most thankful for? We are thankful that even amid the trials and tribulations being wrongly forced upon us, our family has so much to be thankful for on this New Year’s Day. Our cups and plates are running over with a greater love, deepened faith, lasting hope, inner joy, peace that passes all understanding, loving family, faithful friends, miraculously met needs, and abundant blessings that are too innumerable to list. On this new year day, we feel blessed and grateful for all the wondrous ways God is working in and through our family even as our fight for freedom has left us away from our home and stranded on a little hillside. As Paul the Apostle, we have learned
in whatsoever state we are in, therewith to be content. We have learned content has nothing to do with your geographic or physical state or situation. Being content is a matter of choosing to be satisfied with how your needs and desires are being met. No matter what our family is going through, we strive to look for good things to be grateful for and not evil things to be distraught or ungrateful about. It has been quite humorous over the years at some of the comical things we have labeled blessings in difficult times. Maybe we will share a few in future updates.
When gratitude dies in the heart of a man, he is well-nigh hopeless.
When gratitude lives in the heart of a man, his hope cannot be taken away.
We, the Nick and Donna Nickerson Family, are grateful to God on this January 1, 2020, for a new day to love, serve, give, and stand. We pray tomorrow will find we were faithful in how we lived this new day and new year. Our hope and strength is in the Lord.
